Question: In 2Corinthians 3:17, the phrase “where the breath of the LORD is, in that place is liberty” sounds like it might be a well-known theme. Is Paul quoting or alluding to something?
NKJV reads: “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty”.
Same reading for NASB, J.N. Darby, and NIV; which to me is emphasising the difference between the “veiled” OT, and the majority of the Jews regarding Christ Jesus and His Salvation work!
Similar to; but not the same as some current rigid teachings, and the freedoms of Christ Jesus!
